Dr. Margaret McGuire, DDS
Dr. McGuire grew up in eastern North Carolina and attended dental school at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill. She fell in love with the Greensboro area during school and knew she would return one day. After completing a rigorous general dentistry residency in Texas, she put down roots in Summerfield and is excited to serve patients in the Triad.
She earned her undergraduate degree in mathematics from the College of Wooster, where she published research on geographic tongue, a common but poorly understood oral condition. In dental school, she was deeply involved in volunteer service, research, and teaching, and received multiple awards for her leadership and collaborative spirit, including her role as president of the Student Professionalism and Ethics Association.
Dr. McGuire is passionate about continuing education. She has completed all coursework and numerous cases toward board certification in dental sleep medicine, is Invisalign certified, and regularly attends advanced training at the Pankey Institute. She is also proud to offer Guided Biofilm Therapy as part of routine cleanings, providing a more effective cleaning and a more comfortable patient experience. She is committed to bringing the most up-to-date and thoughtful care to her patients.
When she isn’t working, Dr. McGuire enjoys running, biking, hiking, exploring new places around the Triad, and enjoying time with her fiancee, Kyle. She and Kyle participate in long distance endurance sports, having completed a marathon and triathlon already. She also enjoys homesteading, emergency preparedness, and is an amateur radio operator.
Going to the dentist doesn’t have to be scary or painful. Dr. McGuire strives to create a relaxed, supportive environment where patients feel heard, informed, and empowered. She is grateful for her “dream team” of staff who share her vision. She knows you’ll love getting to know them too!
